A short note on the terms and abbreviations used to describe the condition of the book or dust jacket
f : fine - clean, bright, almost new, shows very few signs of use.
vg : very good - one or two discrete flaws.
g : good - describes an average used book, which may contain any number and type of flaw, small stains, tears, scuffs, lengthy inscriptions, chips, may be loose from several readings...
p: poor - significant and glaring flaws.
exlib : any book with library markings
sb : softbound - an average or larger sized book with a paper cover, sometimes called a trade paperback.
pb : pocketbook or paperback - paper cover, roughly measures four inches by six inches.
The above abbreviations and terms are used when describing items from the out of print catalogues. The condition of a book is described first, followed by the condition of the jacket. For example, vg/g indicates a book in very good condition / with a jacket in good condition.
